At Caliper Farms, our design philosophy is based on three intertwined elements:

We pay attention to all three to produce a design that will gracefully mature over time.

STEP 1: CONSULTATION
We always begin the design process with a meeting at your property so we can get to know you and your home. But even before we meet, we’ll try to learn more about you with our Design Questionnaire, which will help us understand your priorities, tastes and lifestyle, and of course your budget.

Once this step is complete, we’ll proceed with your design. We’ll create a schedule, and a design fee will be assessed at this time.

STEP 2: DESIGN
Next we’ll collect on site-measurements, sketches and pictures. This information, along with your answers to the Design Questionnaire and our meeting notes forms the basis for our creative thinking as our designers work to develop a customized, unique approach for your site. At the same time, we’ll determine specifications and complete pricing.

STEP 3: PRESENTATION
After the design is complete, we’ll get back together at our office to review it, determine any revisions and agree to preliminary construction schedules. At this point we’ll present you with a construction contract for your signature. A deposit of 1/3 the contract fee will be required to begin the build phase.

STEP 4: BUILD
Prior to the start of construction, your designer will meet with our production foreman to review all specifications and lay out the job. Once construction begins the designer stays in touch with you and facilitates communication. Upon completion we’ll set up a walk-through to make sure the work has been carried out to your satisfaction. We’ll expect final payment at this time.
